In this lecture, Joe Dempsey will introduce us to common purposes.

Introduction to briefs and site visits by cohort. After the lunch break we will break into our cohort groups: 3& will meet with the 3& lead, 5& will meet Joe Dempsey, and 6& will meet Sam Holden.

In each group, students will review the briefs and prepare the site visits that are scheduled for next Friday, week 3.

Think about dividing labour in each corhort/site:

How will we document our site visits? Who will engage with the site in what ways? Can we film or record encounters with those we meet? How can we share our findings with the atelier class through the digital &-commons?

What practices can gesture to ways of engaging with the site in a way in which we are not only 'spectators' but deliberate (albeit careful) participants in it for the duration of our visit?

We will meet again across all cohorts in week 4, the week after your site visit.
